Machame Gate to first camp
Register at Machame Gate and trek through montane forest to Machame Camp, the first night's camp on the Machame route.
Trek to Shira Camp
A trekking day gaining altitude toward Shira Camp, with the guide setting a deliberately slow pace to aid acclimatization.
Trek to Barranco Camp
A trekking day gaining altitude toward Barranco Camp, with the guide setting a deliberately slow pace to aid acclimatization.
Trek to Karanga Camp
A trekking day gaining altitude toward Karanga Camp, with the guide setting a deliberately slow pace to aid acclimatization.
Trek to Barafu Camp
A trekking day gaining altitude toward Barafu Camp, with the guide setting a deliberately slow pace to aid acclimatization.
Summit night & descent to lower camp
Depart around midnight for the summit, reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m) around sunrise, then descending to a lower camp the same day to sleep.
Descent to Machame Gate gate
A final descent through changing vegetation zones back to the park gate, followed by a transfer to Arusha or Moshi for a hot shower and celebration dinner.
Transfer from Kilimanjaro to safari
A rest day in Arusha to recover from the climb before transferring into the safari circuit for Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire.

A full day of game drives across Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire, a strong contrast to the mountain days just completed.

Can this be combined with a safari afterward?
Yes — most climbers add a short Northern Circuit safari or a Zanzibar beach stay afterward for recovery. We can extend this itinerary at either end.
What's included for porters and crew welfare?
We follow the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP) guidelines on maximum carry weight, proper equipment and fair wages for all mountain crew.
